Map  – Pick Your Spot & Put Your Name On It!

There are many things to consider when you are selecting your location.

Remember, it’s a park.  What’s grass today may be dirt by August.  The City changes things all the time.  We do not control this – we have to roll with it! They add a tree, dig a hole, have a storm, we have to adjust vending.  We try to minimize impact but remember, don’t get attached to a specific booth number as you may be moved!

We load in from south to north.  If you pick a South end location you’ll have an earlier load in and load out time – it could be 6:00 AM!  Conversely, if you select a North end location your load in time will be later, but so will your load out time – as late as 10:30 PM!  Sponsors get the ‘golden ticket’ of entering/exiting during any of our load in/out hours.

General Vending booths are Green on the map when available. Once they’re sold they are Red.

Food booths are Gray when available and Blue when sold.

Sponsorship booths are Yellow when available. Once they’re booked they are Purple.

Booths in Hemposium, Hemposium 21+ Cannabis Lounge, Grubbin’ Grove, Main Stage, Stone Village, & Munchie Market are subject to the City of Seattle’s 10% of revenue or $20 fee, whichever is greater. These are theRed & Orange sections of the park.

We must collect this.  We come around on Sunday night and pick it up and give you your Sunday night load in pass then.  You will not get a Sunday night load out pass until you pay.  To avoid this fee, select booths in the Yellow, Green, Blue, or Purple areas.

Be sure and select your booth before your start the application!  You’ll need to select 5 locations.  Be sure they are green and available!  Pay once you apply!  Only fully paid applications are processed.  The booths you’re requesting will not be held for you unless you pay!  We secure booths in the order applications are paid.

Buy the $49 booth highlight, you’ll see it on your application.  I can’t tell you how many times we get phone calls & emails from the public trying to figure out who a vendor was-  It’s a great deal!  Whenever someone hovers over your booth space it will show them whatever info you’ve had us put in.  Your business name, address, we can add hyperlinks to your website, events, anything you want!  It will go up a week or so after you pay your invoice and it will stay up until the end of the year.

Seattle Hempfest Vending Prices 

  • Hemposium, Hemposium 21+ Cannabis Lounge, Main Stage, Stone Village, & Toke Life- 

$910  for a 10 x 10 booth in line with other booths allowing for 10 feet of frontage space to work with customers.
$1099 for a 10 x 10 corner booth or booth off by itself allowing for more than 10 feet of frontage space.

  • Main Stage, Stone Village Water Side   

$1210 for a 10 x 10 booth in line with other booths allowing for 10 feet of frontage space to work with customers.
$1399 for a 10 x 10 corner booth or booth off by itself allowing for more than 10 feet of frontage space.

  • Cannabis Cove, Hempsterdam, McWilliams Stage, Starborne Stage, and Seeley Stage 

$710 for a 10 x 10 booth in line with other booths allowing for 10 feet of frontage space to work with customers.
$885 for a 10 x 10 corner booth or booth off by itself allowing for more than 10 feet of frontage space.

  • Bassdrop Music Village:

$535 for a 10 x 10 booth in line with other booths allowing for 10 feet of frontage space to work with customers.
$685 for a 10 x 10 corner booth or booth off by itself allowing for more than 10 feet of frontage space.

  • 6 x 6 blanket spaces in Bassdrop Music Village

$350 Blanket spaces do not come with vehicle privileges, so product has to be walked in and out of the park each night. Blanket spaces are not large enough for canopies, however, vendors are permitted to use a large umbrella and stand for shade. Seattle Hempfest is prohibited from staking items into the ground, so an umbrella stand is required. Blankets may not be moved from the assigned space.

Seattle HEMPFEST® Event Vending Rules  

 

  1. You will not sell marijuana or foods with marijuana in them or any illegal narcotic.  No marijuana sales, active food sales will be tolerated. Not even to authorized medical patients.  Your booth will be shut down immediately. There is a zero tolerance policy that will be strictly enforced. All fees and your space will be forfeited.
  2. All parties must be listed on this application.   Sub leasing or transferring of booth spaces is not allowed.
  3. You will have wood under your tires at all times.  We know it seems silly but the City of Seattle requires that all vehicles have wood under their tires while in the park.
  4. You will not sell or sample Salvia, Spice, K2 or any other similar substance.  down and you will not be allowed to return. All fees and your space will be forfeited.
  5. There is no camping allowed in the park.  You must exit the park by midnight each night.  You may not stay overnight in your booth.  If you are in the park after midnight you’ll be required to leave.
  6. You will not sell or give away any beverages of any type.
  7. Food sales are not allowed in the park unless they are approved via application.  All foods must be factory packaged and sealed.
  8. For public safety reasons, vendors do not get strolling privileges and are not permitted to stand outside of their booths offering samples or products to people walking by.
  9. To preserve the free speech aspect of our permit, no sound amplification is allowed.  No bullhorns, speakers, stereos or amplification of any type is allowed.
  10. I will not sell any merchandise using HEMPFEST’s ® name or image.
  11. Vehicles of any type, including bicycles & Segways, are not allowed to be operated during the event.  All vehicles are disallowed by permit and are not allowed in the park during event hours.
  12. Pets of any type are not allowed on site by permit.
  13. No private ATM machines are allowed on site.
  14. No private generators are allowed on site.
  15. You booth tag must be placed in the upper right hand corner on the front side of your booth at all times.
  16. Vendors in Hemposium, Main Stage, & Stone Village are required by the City of Seattle to pay 10% of gross sales or $20, whichever is greater for the privilege of vending in a public park. Seattle HEMPFEST®is required to collect this tax on behalf of the city.  We distribute the tax form at HEMPFEST®, and vendors must turn them in at Seattle HEMPFEST®Operations on Sunday night to obtain their load out pass.
  17. I agree to stay within my 10×10×10 booth space.  We are required to maintain certain distances from the paths.  Moving or expanding your booth is in violation of our permit.  This includes hanging items from trees or other park structures.
  18. I agree to remove all my booth materials from my area upon exit on Sunday night. Everything I brought will leave with me. Pack it in; pack it out! I understand that if I fail to comply I will be fined $500 that will be automatically billed to the credit card on file.
  19. Providing of medical recommendations at Seattle HEMPFEST® is not permitted.
  20. Creating of private medicating areas within your booth space is prohibited.  All areas of your booth must be open to all of the public at all times.
  21. No staking is allowed in Seattle City Parks.  You are not allowed to put anything into the ground.  All canopies must be weighed down with sand bags, cement blocks, water jugs, or other on ground weight.
  22. If I am selling products that require the purchaser to be 18 or older, I will check ID’s
  23. Seattle has a City wide ban on Styrofoam.  In accordance with this no Styrofoam may be brought on site.
  24.  I will not distribute any stickers for free.  We’ve had to pay upwards or $2,000 in sticker removal fees as attendees love to put them in inappropriate places.  You may sell stickers to attendees as our hope is that if they’ve bought it they will value it more.  Help HEMPFST® avoid more City fee’s by stopping providing free stickers.
  25. Hand held torches are not allowed to be operated in Seattle City Parks per the Fire Marshall Section 308.1.((6))5
  26. I have general business liability insurance and will be able to produce documentation of such if required to on site.
  27. Hate groups and hate speech are not allowed.  You must conduct yourself in a courteous and professional manor at all times.  No confrontational or aggressive behavior will be tolerated.
  28. All cancellations will be charged a 30% cancellation fee.  No cancellations will be taken after June 1.  To cancel all or part of your order you must complete our cancellation form and email it to vending@hempfest.org.
  29. I agree and understand that
  • All applications go into review once they are paid in full.  Until an application is paid in full it is not processed.
  • The longer I wait to pay, the less likely the spaces I’ve selected will be available.  I understand that if the spaces I have selected are no longer available I will be placed in another space in the same price category.
  • I understand the map is subject to change.  My booth may be reassigned or moved.  I am not guaranteed any specific space number just a location within the price category for which I have paid.  If I am provided a space in a different price category I will be given a refund for the difference between the two categories.
  • I am vending in a park.  This means I will be on grass or dirt.  I understand that it’s Seattle and if it rains there may be mud and puddles.
  • I am vending at my own risk.  Seattle HEMPFEST® makes no claims or guarantees as to my sales or condition of the ground that my booth will be set up.  I understand there no guarantee of the safety for anything left in the park overnight.  If I choose to not load out my products and/or booth set up out each night, Seattle HEMPFEST® make no guarantee of its safety.  Vendors leave products and their booth at their own risk.
  • HEMPFEST® recommends that I load out each night and back in each morning.

A Few Additional Rules For Food Vendors

  1. Only specialty drinks and bottled water may be sold.  No other prepackaged beverages are allowed unless approved via application.
  2. You will use compostable utensils and serving containers.  These can be purchased from Cedar Grove,http://www.gogreenscene.com/Food_Services-list.aspx or must be compliant to their compostable specification http://www.cedar-grove.com/commercial/accepted-items/ or Cedar Grove will not accept them for compost.
  3. You will allow Seattle Hempfest to create 30 free food coupons to be handed out to our volunteer staff.  You may not deny staff the use of these coupons.
  4. You must obtain a Temporary Food Service Permit at least 21 days prior to the event to avoid a fine by the health department.  We are required to provide the health department a list of all food vendors.  They will not allow you to open if you’ve not obtained the proper permits.  They also charge a hefty fine for not obtaining your permit at least 21 days prior to the event.  Here is the link to obtain your permit. http://www.kingcounty.gov/healthservices/health/ehs/foodsafety/FoodBusiness/temporary.aspx
  5. You must also obtain a Fire Department Permit for LPG (propane) and/or open flame (charcoal, wood).  Additionally, if you are cooking with propane, oil, or any open flame you are required to have fire extinguishers.  For oil, a special Class K fire extinguisher is required.  For more information on the fire permit requirements, or to download a permit application, please visit the Seattle Fire Marshall’s Special Event page, http://www.seattle.gov/fire/fmo/specialevents/sehome.htm
  6. Do not make your own 3 compartment sink in your area.  This is a health code violation and your booth will be noted as in violation and unable to operate until you have come into compliance with King County health codes.
  7. You cannot leave food on site over night or begin prep on site during Thursday load in.  This is a health code violation and your booth will be noted as in violation and unable to operate until you have come into compliance with King County health codes.

  • We’re excited at this new opportunity to drive attendees to your booth! We are having a Mobile Billboard that will be driving around the streets outside of Hempfest. What is a Mobile Billboard? It’s a box truck that has a see through back so you can see the DJ spinning inside. Your banner will be on the front of the truck above the cab, or along the sides above & below the DJ.

    You’ll not only get a banner on the Mobile Billboard but your 2 – 4 line message will be broadcast to everyone waiting in our lines, walking up to the event, or heck, just in the general vicinity by the live DJ performing inside it!   • 2400 watt, 20 amp, 120 volt, 4 outlet power drops are available for purchase at time of application for $225.00/ea. Your sponsorship booth comes with one power drop if requested.
  • ICE

  • 20# bags of ice are available from ice trucks in several locations throughout the park. Ice Coupons are sold for $8 per bag in advance. If you purchase coupons in advance they’ll be in your load in packet when you arrive. Ice Coupons on site are$15.00 each and sold on a cash only basis only. They are sold in the Vending Information Desk in the QM area of Operations.
  • Load In

  • You will be given a unique pass to enter for each day you select. Your golden ticket will allow you to enter during any of our open load in/out hours.

    I agree to arrive during the designated times. If I do not I understand I’ll be turned away. If I am late I will have to walk my products into/out of the park. I understand and agree to this :
     
  • The City also requires that all tires have wood under them at all times. We know it may seem silly but it’s a very important part of our annual permit process. If you do not have wood under your tires it jeopardizes our permit so we’ll have to ask you to leave the park and go get wood and start load in all over again.

    We’ll have wood waiting for you at vendor check in the first time you arrive per vehicle & trailer indicated above and you agree to bring it back every time you drive into the park. If I forget my wood I understand I’ll have to exit the park and drive back around to load in to obtain new wood. :

  • Seattle Hempfest is a nonprofit, free speech event. We are compromised of a volunteer staff who believe in our objective to advance the cause of Cannabis policy reform through education, while advancing the public image of the Cannabis advocate or enthusiast through example.

  • Rules & Regulations

  • Please review and read each of these carefully. We unfortunately have had to suspend some vendors due to rule violations. While the rules may be no fun, they are a necessary part of our annual permit.

    We are serious about these policies. If you don’t intend on following the rules, or think we’re kidding, stop your application now, come and enjoy Hempfest instead of vending.

    Remember, if this City didn’t make us, we wouldn’t make you!

    Rules
  • You will not sell or sample marijuana or foods with marijuana in them or any illegal narcotic.  No marijuana sales, active food sales or sampling will be tolerated. Not even to authorized medical patients. Your booth will be shut down immediately. There is a zero tolerance policy that will be strictly enforced. All fees and your space will be forfeited.
  • All parties must be listed on this application. Sub leasing or transferring of booth spaces is not allowed.
  • You will have wood under your tires at all times. We know it seems silly but the City of Seattle requires that all vehicles have wood under their tires while in the park. If you choose to bring your own, you must have your wood out and ready when you load in each day. We must see your wood squares before you’ll be allowed to enter or you’ll need to purchase wood on site for $50 per set of 4. If you fail to bring wood or purchase it we simply cannot allow you in the park or we’ll be in violation of our permit! Once you’re in if you fail to park on your wood we’ll request to have you do so.
  • You will not sell or sample Salvia, Spice, K2 or any other similar substance.
  • There is no camping allowed in the park. You must exit the park by midnight each night. You may not stay overnight in your booth. If you are in the park after midnight you’ll be required to leave.
  • You will not sell or give away any beverages of any type.
  • Food sales are not allowed in the park unless they are approved via application. All foods must be factory packaged and sealed.
  • For public safety reasons, vendors do not get strolling privileges and are not permitted to stand outside of their booths offering samples or products to people walking by.
  • To preserve the free speech aspect of our permit, no sound amplification is allowed. No bullhorns, speakers, stereos or amplification of any type is allowed.
  • I will not sell any merchandise using Hempfest of its image. If you are interested in co branding merchandise please contact us at hfcadmin@hempfest.org
  • Vehicles of any type, including bicycles & Segways, are not allowed to be operated during the event.
  • Pets of any type are not allowed on site by permit.
  • No private ATMs are allowed on site.
  • No private generators are allowed on site.
  • You booth tag must be placed in the upper right hand corner on the front side of your booth at all times.
  • Vendors in booth 533 or lower - anyplace south of Main Stage are required by the City of Seattle to pay 10% of gross sales or $20, whichever is greater for the privilege of vending in a public park. Seattle Hempfest is required by law to collect this tax on behalf of the city. We distribute the tax form at Hempfest, and vendors must turn them in at Seattle Hempfest Operations on Sunday night to obtain their load out pass.
  • I agree to stay within my 10x10 booth space. We are required to maintain certain distances from the paths. Moving or expanding your booth is in violation of our permit. This includes hanging items from trees or other park structures.
  • I agree to remove all my booth materials from my area upon exit on Sunday night. Everything I brought will leave with me. Pack it in; pack it out! I understand that if I fail to comply I will be fined $500 that will be automatically billed to the credit card on file. I understand that I will be billed, $1,000, per tree, for broken branch(es) or significant damage.
  • All cancellations will be charged a 30% cancellation fee. No cancellations will be taken after June 1. To cancel all or part of your order you must complete our cancellation form and email it to vending@hempfest.org.
