Is now open!

The World’s Largest Cannabis Event

Signgs4You_Ad4[1]

The tabs below have all the info you need to apply.   It’s a lot to read, so roll a fat one and enjoy!

We know that some I502 business have questions about participation at Seattle Hempfest.

June 20, 2016 UPDATE – From the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board:

“We agree the use of a business trade name on a booth, or identified as part of a sponsorship level would not constitute a violation of marijuana advertising laws and rules. Therefore, marijuana businesses licensed by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB) can use tradename/business names at the event without the need for required marijuana warnings, as required on product advertising.

In determining the details of advertising for Seattle Hempfest event, our interpretation includes the advertising of marijuana product, including inventory lists, pricing, and product availability for any WSLCB licensed marijuana business. Information provided to people such as general information about marijuana, growing cycles, coloration, fragrance, etc. would be allowable as information sharing versus advertising at Seattle Hempfest.”

For licensed 502 businesses CLICK HERE to read the entire letter.

We encourage you to look at the following link from the WSLCB website: http://www.liq.wa.gov/mj2015/faq_i502_advertising

That link on the WSLCB website includes the following information:

Events

Q) Will we as producer/processor be able to enter cannabis cup or attend hemp fest type activities?

A) You would not be able to directly enter your product into a cannabis cup. As a licensed producer/processor your product can only be sold to another licensed entity and to gift/donate it is not allowed. There is nothing that would preclude you from attending a Hempfest type activity however you would not be allowed to have product on hand.

Q) Are we allowed to set up a booth at a venue, for example Hemp Fest, with a company logo on it? Can we hand out product information at our booth? Does the handout info on our products have to have disclaimers on everything?

A) Yes, you may have a booth at Hemp Fest type activities and hand out product information. Yes the informational handouts must contain the disclaimers mandated in WAC 314-55-155.

Sponsorships

Sponsorships are not specifically prohibited, except that sponsorships and sponsorship activity may not violate the advertising prohibitions found in WAC 314-55-155.

Please visit the LCB’s website for full information.

Don’t Worry; Be Hempy!

Map  – Click on each area to see what spaces are still available!

There are many things to consider when you are selecting your location.

Remember, it’s a park.  What’s grass today may be dirt by August.  The City changes things all the time.  We do not control this – we have to roll with it! They add a tree, dig a hole, have a storm, we have to adjust vending.  We try to minimize impact but remember, don’t get attached to a specific booth number as you may be moved!

We load in from south to north.  If you pick a south end location you’ll have an earlier load in and load out time – it could be 6:00 AM!  Conversely, if you select a north end location your load in time will be later, but so will your load out time – as late as 10:30 PM!  Sponsors get the ‘golden ticket’ of entering/exiting during any of our load in/out hours.

General Vending booths are light or dark Green on the map when available. Once they’re sold they are Red.

Food booths are Gray when available and Blue when sold.

Sponsorship booths are Yellow when available. Once they’re booked they are Purple.

You can get Sponsorship information HERE

Be sure and select your booth before your start the application!  You’ll need to select 3 locations.  The booths you’re requesting will not be held for you unless you pay!  We secure booths in the order applications are paid.

Have questions?  Call us!  We can be reached at Hempfest Central, 206-364-HEMP(4367).  We’re generally here Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM & Saturdays 1:00 – 7:00 PM.  We’re here to help you!  You can also email us at [email protected]

If you bring your own canopy, vendors should be prepared for occasional windy conditions on the waterfront. Please secure your canopies with some form of weight system (i.e. sandbags, cinder blocks, water container). Vendors are also responsible for maintaining the space in and around their booth. We ask that everyone be respectful of each other when loading in and out of the park and to leave the area as clean as possible. Pack it in, pack it out!

No power will be sold after this date.
Power will not be sold on site.
  • Canopy/Table Rentals

  • Canopies will be set up in your booth location ready for your arrival. You will need to come down to QM in Operations to check out your tables, chairs, & banner poles. If you have not rented a canopy you are responsible for dropping your banner poles, tables & chairs off back at QM as your load out on Sunday night. If you do not check your items back in you will be billed if they cannot be accounted for. If you rented a canopy please leave tables, chairs, & banner poles inside your canopy and assure the canopy is fully closed.

Rentals are only available until sold out!
  • I understand that I am responsible for my rented items. I will be billed replacement value for any damaged or missing items. I will leave all rented items in my canopy and seal it closed when I load of out Seattle Hempfest. I agree to use the credit card on file to process payment if I have damaged or lost any items.

  • ICE - NO NEW ICE SALES ON SITE

  • 20# bags of ice are available from ice trucks near the Main Stage Bridge & North Entrances. Ice Coupons are sold for $8 per bag. There are no ice sales on site. All sales must be done in advance. Tickets are not refundable. Order ice if you need it or bring your own on site. Food businesses who do not order enough ice may shut down early to avoid violating health department rules.

  • Load In Fee

  • Vehicle entry fee is $50 per vehicle. Entry will be timed and you will not be allowed entry without this pass. You must purchase a vehicle entry pass for each vehicle you’ll use to load in/out of the park.

I agree to arrive during the designated times. If I do not I understand I’ll be turned away. If I am late I will have to walk my products into/out of the park. If I arrive and I have not purchased a vehicle entry pass I understand that I will be turned away and not allowed to drive into the park. By not purchasing entry passes I acknowledge that I will be walking my products in and out. I also understand that there is no guarantee to the safety of my products left over night in my booth space. Items left in my booth are left there at my own risk

  • Wood

  • The City also requires that all tires have wood under them at all times.

You’ll need wood squares big enough to drive each of your tires onto.

This is typically 4 pc of ¾” plywood cut to 16x16 squares.

If you do not have wood under your tires it jeopardizes our permit so we’ll have to ask you to leave the park and go get wood and start load in all over again – and that’s a bummer!

I understand that I will need to have my wood out each time I drive into the park. I will have it out and ready to show to the Traffic Monitors each time I enter the park. I understand that if I forget my wood I will not be allowed to enter the park and I’ll have to walk my products in. I understand that Seattle Hempfest does not have extra wood on site.

I’ll have my wood out when I check in as a condition of entry. I understand and agree to this

  • Location selection

  • Each space is 10x10.

Our map is subject to change.  Your booth may be reassigned or moved.  We make every effort to NOT have this happen but it occasionally does.  We make no guarantee of any specific booth location or number.

You are vending in a park.  This means that you may be on grass, you may be on dirt, heck, it’s Seattle, if it rains there may be mud and puddles. Think about this!  Nothing is flat in a park, a lot of spaces are slightly slanted.  A super great idea is to check out the park on Google Earth if you are going to be super picky about your space. Type in Myrtle Edwards Park, Seattle, Wa and you can go down to street view and see the terrain and get an idea of what different areas look like

  • 20# bags of ice are available from ice trucks near the Main Stage Bridge & North Entrances. Ice Coupons are sold for $8 per bag. There are no ice sales on site. All sales must be done in advance. • Loading in

We know it may seem silly but it’s a very important part of our annual permit process. You’ll need wood squares big enough to drive each of your tires onto.

I’ll have my wood out when I check in and I understand if I cannot produce wood I will not be allowed entry.. I understand and agree to this

  • Rules & Regulations

  • Please review and read each of these carefully. We unfortunately have had to suspend some vendors due to rule violations. While the rules may be no fun, they are a necessary part of our annual permit.

We are serious about these policies. If you don’t intend on following the rules, or think we’re kidding, stop your application now, come and enjoy Hempfest as an attendee instead of vending.

Remember, if this City didn’t make us, we wouldn’t make you!

 Street Vending Info

Street vending is not authorized  by the Seattle HEMPFST® event.  City enforcement officers will be patrolling the sidewalks around the Seattle HEMPFST® event and will be issuing citations for illegal street vending.   It’s cheaper to get our $400 blanket permit!

Vending in public right of way requires a Street Use Permit from the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT). There are several different types of Street Use vending permits: Sidewalk or Plaza Vending, Curb Space Vending (Designated Food-Vehicle Zone or Temporary Curb Space Activity), Stadium and Event Center Vending, Mobile Food Vending, and First Amendment Vending.

Please review the following information:  http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/stuse_vend.htm
